A key part of any organisation such as West Suffolk Headway is Fundraising.  An integral part of our Business Plan, which is currently under development, is a Fundraising Strategy.  This basically takes the form of identifying the shortfall between our incoming funds and outgoing expenses and then planning how we are going to attempt to fill that gap!

We have decided that a realistic contribution we can hope to make to our deficit from fundraising is £35,000 - £40,000 over the coming year.

As well as attending events that we put on – we are so grateful when people show their support for our work by deciding to make us the beneficiary of events that they organise. So please keep thinking of us.

If you are stuck for ideas and would like to fundraise for us – please contact us for a chat – we can even arrange for you to jump out of a plane if that’s your thing!
Fundraising
In the exciting and challenging times ahead we are very grateful to our friends and supporters for their help in our fundraising.

This year to date, over £9000 has been raised thanks to the connections of service user Keith Pemberton and his daughter Amy, an actress in broadway hit The Jersey Boys.

Over £900 was raised through our summer raffle, with a first prize of a week's holiday in the French Alps.  This was drawn at The Physical Freedom event at Chilford Hall in August, where we also hosted a 'Dogathon'.

The Iceni MG Owners' Club raised £2250 from their annual Boadicea Run at Elveden Estates.

The Bury Ladies Golf Group raised £3000 over the course of the year from fundraising events.

A raffle at the Artworks display at Rougham Barns, which a number of our members visited to view the fabulous art work, raised £251.

£1000 was raised by the Bury St Edmunds & District Caledonian Society with their traditional Burns' Night in January.

The above is only a selection of the support we have received and a big THANK YOU to all those people and all of you I have not mentioned here - You know who you are!

We are probably unable to focus on large outdoor events or bazaars this year due to lack of space and storage for resources so will be relying more and more on the goodwill of our friends and supporters both old and new to maybe think of us when they plan a charity event.  We can supply advertising, literature and support - so if any of you have any fundraising suggestions please contact Dave Taylor on 01284 702 535.
Thanks!
